I stopped using entry-level soap cutters after a very short period of time, because they could only cut one bar a time. Also, the cutting guard was not stable, (meaning all cuts were not the same), and it was a headache to clean them after each use!
Soon after I became serious about making soap for a living, I had to move on to a professional cutter, that could evenly cut multiple bars of soaps at one time.
At that point, I switched to a multi-string cutter, which looked like a cheese cutter with a hinge...it was made of heavy iron and acrylic. I finally could cut multiple bars each time, however, the curvy cutting marks made my soap look very unpolished…and good luck trying to clean all the grooves on the acrylic base!
One time, I cut a loaf of soap with beautiful lavender flowers on the top but, the cutting wires pushed some petals through the soap and created dragging tracks all over the soaps…it was so sad!
Determined to come up with something better, my frustration motivated me to spend nearly 2 years with my engineer brother and nephew, to develop this innovative cutter that you are viewing right now.
It provides a smooth and even cut every time, and it can even be adjusted to cut any thickness that you desire…I hope it will help bring you frustration free soapmaking, just as it has for me!
